1. What is the income tax calendar?
It is the master timeline of every recurring obligation the Income Tax Act imposes on individuals, businesses, deductors and collectors during a financial year. India's tax year runs 1 April to 31 March (FY 2025-26 = AY 2026-27). Each financial year carries 40+ compliance touchpoints — advance tax, TDS deposits, TDS returns, TCS returns, ITR filing, tax audit, transfer pricing audit, SFT filings, and so on.
2. Why missing a tax deadline is so costly
