Trademark Class 14: Jewellery, Precious Metals & Watches
Class 14 covers precious metals and their alloys, jewellery, precious and semi-precious stones, and horological and chronometric instruments. Smartwatches are a common trap — because they are electronic, they usually need Class 9 as well as Class 14.
What Class 14 covers
India follows the NICE Classification (11th edition) — 45 classes in total, 34 for goods and 11 for services. Class 14 sits in the goods group. Your trademark is only protected for the goods or services listed in the class you file, which is why picking Class 14 correctly matters more than the logo itself.
- Gold, silver, platinum and their alloys
- Jewellery, rings, chains and bangles
- Precious and semi-precious stones
- Watches, clocks and their parts
- Jewellery boxes and cases
- Ornaments and trinkets of precious metal
