Trademark Class 1: Chemicals
Class 1 covers industrial, scientific and agricultural chemicals in their raw or unprocessed state — the inputs that other industries use to manufacture finished products. If your chemical is sold ready-to-use to an end consumer (a cleaner, a medicine, a paint), it is almost never Class 1.
What Class 1 covers
India follows the NICE Classification (11th edition) — 45 classes in total, 34 for goods and 11 for services. Class 1 sits in the goods group. Your trademark is only protected for the goods or services listed in the class you file, which is why picking Class 1 correctly matters more than the logo itself.
